Fran Tarkenton



Tarkenton, Fran (Francis Asbury Tarkenton; 1940– ), U.S. football player. A quarterback known for his passing and scrambling ability, Tarkenton holds the career records for pass attempts (6,467), pass completions (3,686), touchdown passes (342), and passing yards (47,003). He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Minnesota Vikings (1961–66, 1972–79) and New York Giants (1967–71). Tarkenton was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986.
