Tanzanite

Tanzanite, zoisite mineral and semiprecious gem unearthed in Tanzania (1967). This stone is popular for use in jewelry because its polished surfaces, created through a cutting process, reflect beautiful color. When a heat process is applied to tanzanite, it reflects a blue color. Before the heat treatment, tanzanite shines purple, blue, or yellow, depending upon the way light hits it.
