Swahili

Swahili, Bantu language of East Africa, widely spoken in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and parts of Zaire. Swahili is heavily influenced by Arabic in its vocabulary, the name of the language itself coming from the Arabic word for “coasts.”
