Suspension

Suspension, in chemistry, mixture in which solid particles hang in a liquid or gas. The suspension is maintained by the continued movement of the molecules of the liquid or gas, which bump the molecules of the particles. Two examples of suspensions are dust (solid in a gas) and muddy water (solid in a liquid).
