Sun Valley



Sun Valley, resort area in south-central Idaho, in the Sawtooth Mountains on the Big Wood River. The area was developed in 1936 by the Union Pacific Railroad because its climate, snowfall, and terrain were ideal for skiing and winter sports. There are numerous ski slopes and cross-country trails throughout the area. In the summer the recreations it offers are mainly golf and tennis.
