Sudetenland

Sudetenland, region in the north of the Czech Republic. Originally designated as the area of the Sudetes Mountains on the Bohemia-Silesia border, it came to apply to all the German-speaking Bohemian and Moravian borderlands incorporated into Czechoslovakia in 1919. The Sudetenland was ceded to Nazi Germany by the Munich Pact in 1938 and restored to Czechoslovakia in 1945.
