Strabo



Strabo (63 B.C.?–A.D. 24?), ancient Greek geographer and historian known for his massive Geographical Sketches, a detailed description of the geography of the known world of his day. His work is a chief source of ancient knowledge on people and places in Europe, Asia, and Africa. He also wrote a 47-volume work, Historical Sketches, which has not been recovered.
