Oliver Stone

Stone, Oliver (1946– ), U.S. film director and screenwriter. He won an Academy Award for direction of Platoon (1987), for which he also wrote the screenplay, based on his own experiences serving in the Vietnam war. He also directed Wall Street (1987), Born on the Fourth of July (1989), JFK (1991), The Doors (1991), Heaven and Earth (1993), Natural Born Killers (1994), and Nixon (1995).
