Lincoln Steffens



Steffens, Lincoln (1866–1936), U.S. writer, lecturer, and political critic. Identified with a group of journalists called muckrakers, he worked to expose the corrupt connection between government and private self-interest. He later developed an interest in revolutionary politics. He wrote numerous magazine articles for McClure's Magazine, American Magazine, and Everybody's Magazine, as well as his Autobiography (1931).
