Spring beauty



Spring beauty, wild flowers in the purslane family. This North American wild flower grows in forests. It has white to pink blooms and slender, lengthy leaves on stems up to 12 in (30 cm) high. The Virginia spring beauty (Claytonia virginica)—sometimes called the Mayflower—and the Carolina (C. caroliniana) are found from Canada through Georgia in the east and Texas in the west.
