Spaniel

Spaniel, one of a large family of sporting dogs, probably descended from a Spanish dog, hence the name. Spaniels make good pets and companions as well as good hunters. Most spaniels have silky coats, long ears, and sturdy bodies and legs. The American Kennel Club recognizes these 10 breeds of spaniels: American water, clumber, cocker, English cocker, English springer, field, Irish water, Sussex, Welsh springer, and Brittany.
