Sons of the American Revolution



Sons of the American Revolution , patriotic organization for male descendants of Revolutionary War veterans or of those who furthered independence in other ways. This group, founded in 1889, seeks to preserve patriotic ideals and American traditions, and to protect the U.S. Constitution. Members also encourage historical research and the conservation of documents and artifacts of the Revolutionary period. The organization is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
