Sir Georg Solti



Solti, Sir Georg (1912–97), Hungarian-born British conductor. He is noted for his recordings of works by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss, and performances he led, usually as musical director, at London's Covent Garden (1961–71), the Paris Opera (from 1973), the London Philharmonic (1979–83), and the Chicago Symphony (1969–91).
