Robert Merton Solow



Solow, Robert Merton (1924– ), U.S. economist. Senior economist (1961–68) on the Council of Economic Advisors and president (1975–80) of the Boston Federal Reserve Bank, he won the 1987 Nobel Prize in economics for work he did in the 1950s, particularly on the importance of technology in economic growth. He was an outspoken critic of “Reagonomics,” President Ronald Reagan's economic policies.
