Solitaire

Solitaire, or Patience, any of several card games played by 1 person. Solitaire has countless varieties, but all are played with 1 or 2 decks of 52 cards, a portion of which are laid out, some face-up, others face-down, to form a foundation (tableau) of cards, upon which the game is played. Play resumes when one card is played out onto another in a prescribed manner. The purpose of the game is to play each card out, thus successfully completing the foundations. Canfield, Klondike, Accordion, Napoleon at St. Helena, Spider, and Pyramid are a few of the games of solitaire.
