Sam Snead



Snead, Sam (1912– ), U.S. golfer. Known for his strong drives and fluent swing, “Slamming Sammy” won a record 84 Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) tournaments between 1936 and 1965. His achievements include winning the PGA championship (1942, 1949, 1951), the Masters Tournament (1949, 1952, 1954) and the British Open (1946).
