Sinus



Sinus, body cavity, usually containing air or blood. Generally, this term refers to the large air space connected with the nose that may become infected and obstructed after upper respiratory infection and cause facial pain and fever (sinusitis). The major nasal sinuses are maxillary, frontal, ethmoid, and sphenoid.
