Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky



Sikorsky, Igor Ivanovich (1889–1972), Russian-born U.S. aircraft designer best known for his invention of the first successful helicopter, flown in 1939. He also designed several airplanes, including the first to have more than one engine (1913).
