Mikhail Sholokhov



Sholokhov, Mikhail (1905–84), Russian novelist awarded the 1965 Nobel Prize in literature. He is best known for his stories about the Don Cossacks of southern Russia. His greatest work is And Quiet Flows the Don (1928–40).
