Shar-pei



Shar-pei, dog of Chinese origin first bred from c.200 B.C. as a guard or fighting dog. The Shar-pei is characterized by a compact body, small flat ears, and a loose, wrinkled skin. It grows 16–20 in (41–51 cm) high and weighs 35–55 lb (16–25 kg). The coat is short, of a solid color, and may be tan, black, cream, or red.
