Seti I



Seti I, Egyptian ruler of the 19th dynasty who reigned about 1303–1290 B.C. Seti I established his seat of government at Memphis and directed several military campaigns into Syria against the Hittites. He built his mortuary temple at Abydos in the Valley of the Kings and continued work on the temple of Amon at Karnak. Seti I was the father of Ramses II.
