San Diego Naval Base

San Diego Naval Base, center of operations for many Pacific-based fleet commands. Established in 1917, the base is a training and supply center and has an antisubmarine-warfare school, a hospital, and a recruiting station. The 11th Naval District Headquarters is located there.
