Samuelson, Paul Anthony (1915– ), U.S. economist, adviser to Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson, and winner of the 1970 Nobel Prize in economics. His widely used college textbook, Economics (1948), has been translated into 21 languages.
