Sabbath



Sabbath, seventh day of the Hebrew week. The Jews observe it as the day of rest laid down in the Fourth Commandment to commemorate the Creation. It starts at sunset on Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday. Christians adopted Sunday as the Sabbath to commemorate the Resurrection.
