Aleksei Ivanovich Rykov



Rykov, Aleksei Ivanovich (1881–1938), Russian communist leader. Active in the October Revolution (1917), he was Soviet Premier (1924–30) after Lenin's death. Opposed to Stalin's policies, he was dismissed from office until he recanted (reinstated 1931–36). Due to involvement in an assassination plot against Stalin, he was executed after a show trial.
