Jim Ryun



Ryun, Jim (1947– ), U.S. athlete who set world records for middle-distance running. In 1966 he ran the mile in 3 minutes 51.3 seconds and 880 yards in 1 minute 44.9 seconds; in 1967 he ran 1,500 meters in 3 minutes 33.1 seconds. He also broke his own mile-run record by 0.2 seconds.
