Adolfo Ruiz Cortines

Ruiz Cortines, Adolfo (1891–1973), Mexican president (1952–58). During his presidency, corruption was curbed and the March to the Sea to aid the maritime industry was initiated; in addition, the implementation of widespread irrigation boosted agricultural productivity and women were given the vote.
