Rotifer

Rotifer, or wheel animal, microscopic roundworm only a fraction of an inch long. Rotifers are plentiful in fresh water, a few live in the sea, and others live in damp moss. They may be fixed in one place or able to swim. At the head end is the “wheel organ,” a delicate ring of rapidly beating hairs that is used for movement or feeding.
