Rotenone

Rotenone, naturally occurring insecticide. This substance is extracted from the root of the tropical derris and cube plants. Harmless to humans and other warm-blooded animals, it poisons cold-blooded animals, especially insects. Rotenone protects garden plants and vegetable crops from insect destruction and protects farm animals from certain parasites, such as fleas.
