George Ross



Ross, George (1730–79), colonial politician and lawyer from Pennsylvania. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence (1776) while a member of the Continental Congress (1774–77). He helped write the Constitution for Pennsylvania (1776) and also served as a member of the Pennsylvania assembly (1768–76). His last political post was as one of Pennsylvania's admiralty judges (1779).
