Carlos Pena Romulo



Romulo, Carlos Pena (1901–85), Filipino journalist and statesman. His World War II broadcasts during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines were known as “The Voice of Freedom.” He won a Pulitzer Prize (1941) and was ambassador to the United States and president of the UN general assembly (1949–50).
