Weighing under 1 lb (0.45 km) and measuring 8–24 in (20–61 cm), these models have fuel-burning engines that allow them to travel distances of up to 2,000 ft (610 m) at a speed of 300 mph (480 kmph). Model rocketry kits are commercially available to hobbyists. Associations, clubs, and competitions exist throughout the world.
