Roach



Roach, fish belonging to the carp and minnow family, commonly found in the lakes and rivers of Europe. Measuring from 6 to 16 in (15 to 40 cm) in length, it is yellow-green in color, with red eyes. It is often used as bait or caught for food. The name also refers to certain varieties of North American fish, notably the golden shiner.
