Rio Grande



Rio Grande, one of the longest rivers in North America, known in Mexico as the Rio Bravo del Norte. It rises in the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado and flows 1,885 (3,034 km) southeast and south to the Gulf of Mexico at Brownsville, Tex., and Matamoros, Mexico. From El Paso, Tex., to its mouth, it forms the U.S.-Mexico border.
