Resurrection

Resurrection, act of God believed to restore life in perfected form to the dead. Many faiths believe resurrection—in physical or spiritual form—will come in the final days of the earth's existence when all people will stand as equals before God and be judged for their deeds in life. In Christianity, the Resurrection refers specifically to the return of Jesus after his crucifixion and the belief that his triumph over death was a spiritual redemption for all humanity. Those who follow his beliefs and practices in their own lives expect to be similarly resurrected and redeemed after their deaths. Easter is a Christian celebration of Jesus's resurrection, said to have occurred 2 days after his death on Good Friday.
