Quilt

Quilt, bedcover made from 2 layers of cloth with an inner padding of insulating material. The layers are sewn together with plain or decorative stitching. The top cover of most quilts is made of brightly colored or patterned fabric pieces cut in geometric or fanciful shapes. Some quilts, particularly older ones, are considered folk art.
