Pusan



Pusan (pop. 3,798,100), second-largest city in South Korea, in the southeast. Having an excellent natural harbor, it is a major port and a center for commerce, shipbuilding, and the fishing industry. It is also a manufacturing and transportation center. Visitors come to its religious and historic landmarks, beaches, and hot springs. During the Korean War, it was South Korea's capital and a landing site for men and arms.
