Puma



Puma, cougar, panther, or mountain lion (Felis concolor), the most widespread of the big cats of the Americas, occupying an amazing variety of habitats. Powerful cats, resembling a slender and sinuous lioness with a small head, they lead solitary lives, preying on various species of deer. The lifespan of a puma in the wild is about 18 years. A puma can cover up to 20 ft (6.1 m) in a bound and will regularly travel up to 50 mi (80.5 km) when hunting.
