Provo



Provo (pop. 263,590), a city in Utah and the seat of Utah County. Named for Étienne Provost, a fur trapper, it was founded by Mormons (1849) and incorporated in 1851. Its products include fruit, steel, and iron. Brigham Young University is in Provo.
