Prometheus



Prometheus, in Greek mythology, one of the Titans and a brother of Atlas. He was sometimes said to have created humankind out of earth and water and to have stolen fire from the gods for the benefit of mankind. Zeus punished Prometheus by having him bound to a rock, whereupon his liver was devoured by an eagle.
