V(ictor) S(awdon) Pritchett



Pritchett, V(ictor) S(awdon) (1900–97), English novelist, short-story writer, and literary critic. Many of his works are based on his travels in Spain. They include Marching Spain (nonfiction, 1928), The Spanish Temper (nonfiction, 1954), and Clare Drummer (novel, 1929). A Cab at the Door (1968), and Midnight Oil (1971) are autobiographical.
