Presidential libraries



Presidential libraries, collections of documents, personal papers, and other memorabilia of former U.S. presidents. There are nine such libraries in the United States preserving the historical records of former presidents Rutherford B. Hayes, Herbert Hoover, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter. Scholars and historians use these libraries and their adjoining museums to do research.
