Powder metallurgy

Powder metallurgy, process of reducing metals into powder. The process is used to make metal alloys by mixing them as powder and heating them to bind the powders together. They are then pressed into the desired shape or form. Metals can be broken down into powders by crushing them or by submitting them to intense heat. They can also be reduced through electrolysis or by atomization of the metal in molten form.
