Poplar



Poplar, name of group of trees belonging to the willow family. Poplars are found in Europe, Asia, and North America. They grow quickly and produce a soft, light wood used in the manufacture of crates and boxes. Depending on the species, they may be heart-shaped, triangular, or diamond-shaped. The name of some poplars are: balsam poplar, white poplar, white or silver poplar, and Carolina poplar.
