Planarian

Planarian, type of flatworm (turbellarian) having a flat, long body and broad head. Planarians are found in fresh or salt water, as well as in moist earth. Depending on the species, they are white, gray, brown, or black, and range in size from ¼ in to 1 ½ in (7 mm to 35 mm) long. Some planarians living in tropical soil may grow as long as 2 ft (60 cm). Planarians are meat eating, and feed on small animals and dead bodies of larger animals. They can reproduce by laying eggs or by dividing their bodies into parts, each part then becoming a complete body.
