Pinochle

Pinochle, card game played with a 48-card deck containing 2 each of the cards 9, 10, jack, queen, king, and ace in each of the 4 suits. In the most popular version of the game, 3 players engage in a series of bids before playing the hand. Other versions of the game—developed in the United States in the 19th century—depend upon different methods of gaining points.
