Picts



Picts, ancient inhabitants of Scotland whose forebears probably came from the European continent c.1000 B.C. By the 8th century A.D. their kingdom extended from Fife to Caithness. In 843 they united with the kingdom of the Scots (Dalriada) and were assimilated into the Scottish nation.
