Phosphoric acid



Phosphoric acid, also called orthophosphoric acid, syrupy acid (H3PO4) produced from phosphate rock or, in purer form, from white phosphorus. This acid has various applications in the manufacture of fertilizers, flavored syrups, dental adhesives, detergents, water softeners, and anti-corrosive coatings for metals.
