Pharmacy

Pharmacy, preparation or dispensing of drugs and pharmacological substances used in medicine; also, the place where this is practiced. Most drugs are now formulated by drug companies, and the pharmacist only measures them out and instructs the patient in their use. The first U.S. pharmacy school was established in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1821.
