Peptide



Peptide, compound containing from 2 to as many as 50 amino acids linked through the amino group of one acid and the carboxyl group of the other. The linkage is termed a peptide bond. Peptides containing 2 amino acids are called dipeptides; with 3, tripeptides, and so on; those with many amino acids are poly peptides.
